“WE4” (2020) is Fabrizio Bosso’s latest galvanic quartet recording and follows the quartet’s live double album “State of the Art” (2017), which then represented the state of his art, marking a new beginning in his rich artistic journey. That is, with pianist Julian Oliver Mazzariello, bassist Jacopo Ferrazza and drummer Nicola Angelucci, who are not only three extraordinary travel companions in music but also true friends in life.

After playing countless concerts worldwide and making music together for years, the quartet have developed and (immediately) achieved absolute reciprocity in terms of sound, interplay and composition, which fully corresponds to Bosso's own concept and ideal of music making.

Their new WE4-distinctive repertoire consists of original tunes composed by all members of the quartet. As the title of the album reveals, “WE4” is the celebration of their personal and musical partnership, where every aspect and every detail are the result of joint contribution, elevating the entire quartet to the role of authentic leader of the project, and where individual shining alternate with their distinct collective band sound.
